Rocky von Russell is a handsome and sweet 12 month old German Shepherd. He is a tall, gangly guy who still has a teenage body. Rocky is so eager to be part of a family again. At a recent adoption event, he walked with a prospective family who had two little dogs; the little male was very alpha. Rocky was very happy to defer to the little guy who wanted everything his way. Actually, we were watching Rocky’s body language change; he loved being part of the family pack with the two little dogs. If the mom or dad got too far ahead or behind, he would keep looking forward and back, trying to make sure everyone was coming. He would sit in front of them and look up lovingly. He still has puppy in him, he likes to put your hand in his mouth but he is so gentle. The volunteers were disappointed the family picked someone else, but they were excited too to know Rocky more and to know he is such a special boy. He will find just the right family soon.
